A Migraine without Headache is a neurological syndrome where a patient experience migraine without headache pain. This type is termed as Silent Headache or Acephalgic Migraine. The symptoms are same as a migraine with aura which means the patient will experience aura but without any headache pain. The symptoms categorized are
- Visual problems
- Aura symptoms
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Fever
- Pain in a particular part of the body
- Sensitivity to light
- Constipation
A Silent Headache can occur to any age group. People who experience an Acephalgic migraine in their childhood will experience other types of a migraine when they grow older. In females, it occurs in their menopause stage.
A Silent Headache or a Migraine without Headache may last from 15 seconds up to less than few hours, however in unusual circumstances, it may continue for up to two days.
Treatment
The treatment for a Migraine without Headache or a Silent Headache or an Acephalgic Migraine is same as for a Migraine with Aura. The symptoms are less severe compared to a migraine with aura, so the treatment is probably less mandatory.
